Chester:"Be fortunate,Corey"

Let’s hope this is the last of Chester Bennington’s adversarial swings against his fans. Two weeks ago, Corey Taylor offered some advice for Bennington, imploring the Linkin Park singer to “be fortunate” for what he has. Having just heard Corey’s words, Bennington tweeted his response, professing that he agrees with what the Slipknot / Stone Sour frontman has to say.

It all started with Linkin Park’s new pop-leaning direction on their One More Light album. When challenged with the accusation that Linkin Park “sold out,” Chester told fans who believe that’s the case to stab themselves in the face, adding followers should “move the f—k on” from Hybrid Theory.

After Corey Taylor was asked for his reaction to Chester’s words, Slipknot’s “Great Big Mouth” offered the words, “I understand where he’s at. God, I would’ve never say it the way he did, but you get frustrated and you want people to embrace the evolution. At the same time, you should probably be very, very fortunate that people this far along the line still love that music you made.

Corey’s response seemed to resonate with Bennington, who has taken the comments to heart:

We’ll see if Chester’s peaceful mindset persists instead of threatening to punch his critics “in the f—king mouth” again. He did recently state after the Manchester terror attack that “As of today, my life’s purpose is one of love and understanding.” Ball’s in your court, Chester!
